DIY (Do It Yourself) Halloween candle making from pool noodles
These spooky pool noodle candles are perfect for Halloween.
Decorating the house a little more fun, spooky and a bit like the flying ladies of the Harry Potter saga.
!IDEA !(Maybe you could also make these pool stick candles fly by adding fishing line)
You can add a pool noodle crown, some spiders, a Frankenstein or a mummy to your candle decorations to create a particularly spooky (not really fun Halloween atmosphere).
Our Halloween decorations post can help with other pool noodle creations for Halloween.
Decorate with pool noodles!
They are light so it is easy to hang.
Pool noodles are not easily recycled, so this is a way to reuse it and help the environment.
Making decorations using pool noodles is easy and fun, so the real question is “why NOT use pool noodles?”.
DIY Halloween candle making
You only need a few things to make this cute Halloween candle display using pool noodles.
You will need:
black pool noodles (noodles of other colors are also suitable, by painting them or leaving the original color,
hot glue gun,
glue, a
battery operated tea lights,
nazis,
black spray paint.
1. Start by cutting the noodles into different sizes.
From each piece of each noodle, one end flat and the other end at a slight angle.
This seems to be a good grouping when using an odd number of pieces.
I used 9 pieces of candles for my Halloween candle display.
You use a hot glue gun to drip down the sides. This will make it look like melted wax, giving it a more realistic look of a burning candle.
You can leave the 'wax' white and use white tea lights or paint it black like I did and use black tea light candles.
The black tea candles I used were from Walmart. They were in the Halloween section and may not be available year round.
Then use black spray paint to color the noodles.
If you use black pool noodles first, it won't take much to dye the noodles.
And yes, you can spray paint the noodles. Do it a little at a time, take your time, use light, even splashes of color and allow it to dry a little between coats.
SAFETY CHECK: For this project, please use battery-operated tea lights, not real, burning candles. You'll melt the pool noodles and make a real mess. You may even catch fire in your house, which may not be a good thing!
So here are the instructions in a concise format just for you.

Spread hot glue around the edges of each piece, letting it run down the sides like wax.
Halloween candle gluing
If you used black pool noodles, lightly spray the pieces, making sure to coat the glue.
If you used colored pool noodles, lightly dye them several times to make them black, making sure to cover them completely.
Arrange the pieces in the desired formation and use hot glue to secure the pieces together. This makes it easy to move and keeps your design in place.
Set the tealights on the candles. If you want, you can insert a pin into the noodle and use it to hold the lights in place. Or you can cut a bigger hole in the noodle to see the light.
In many cases you want the lights at the bottom to turn them on and off.
I just put them on top of the candles.
And that's all! How cute are these Halloween Pool Noodle Candles?
