The typical size for an adult man is 10 oz. It is especially recommended for training on bags and other equipment.
Sparring uses 12, 14 and even 16 oz gloves to better protect your partner.
Women usually choose 8 or 10 oz boxing gloves.
6 oz is enough for children up to 8 years, 8 oz for ages 8 to 13. From 14 years, adult sizes usually apply.
