What is microfiber?

It is a type of fiber less than 10 micrometers thick (1μm = 1/1000mm, 0.001 mm) made from nylon and polyester. In towels, the proportions are typically 80% polyester and 20% polyamide.

Microfiber is characterized by a star-shaped fiber with a nylon core surrounded by polyester. This fiber structure makes it extremely absorbent.
